New York Jets Stadium
New York, New York Status: Design Development
The new Jets Stadium will be a 75,000 seat open air stadium and multi-purpose facility. This innovative design on Manhattan’s Westside incorporates sustainable design technology through the use of several thousand VM Evacuated Heat Pipe solar tubes, wind turbines, and hydroelectric technology. As part of the continued redevelopment, the facility will create a new sports entertainment district.
This unique multi-purpose facility, coupled with New York City’s attractions, should become the most sought after convention facility in the country. The project could generate over three hundred events for the convention center in addition to the ten NFL games played per season. As New York City looks toward the possibility of a bid for the 2012 Olympic Games, the Jets Stadium design accommodates the required Olympic track and total patron capacity.
